Abstract

This research explores the relationship between the level of service and skills of midwives and the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) at Sawerigading Regional Hospital, Palopo City. Through analysis of 73 respondents, data shows that the majority of midwives have a skilled level of service (91.8%), competent knowledge (94.5%), and a positive attitude (95.9%) regarding IMD. Furthermore, 91.8% of respondents reported good implementation of IMD. These results illustrate the readiness and skills of midwives in facilitating IMD practice. This study highlights the important role of midwives in supporting effective IMD and emphasizes the need for increased awareness, training, and support for midwives and pregnant women. This analysis provides a basis for understanding the factors that influence the implementation of IMD, as well as providing a positive view of the role of midwives in facilitating IMD to support the overall health of babies and mothers.
